How fast algae grows depends on how much light it gets, the temperature, and amounts of nutrients in the water. Like other plants, algae can matke their own food. to do this, they must have light to complete the process called photosynthesis. Algae can grow faster in warmer temperatures.

Our experience: We began our journey with one 500ml bottle of what we believed was algae. With our set up, we slowly added more nutrients and diluted the algae every few days.
We began with Benny and were able to make our first 33% dilution. In came Benny out came Bert and Beatrice!
